How to make mobile hotspot more reliable?

If the mobile hotspot of a smartphone is being used for the internet connection of a desktop or laptop can the user do anything to increase the reliability of the connection? There is no connection on the desktop for some time due to which the users time is getting wasted though the mobile hotspot is visible on the smartphone.

I might really have to agree on you. I think mobile Hotspot signals can easily be distorted by waves. Wire connections can only be affected by a breach.
