How to retrieve robbed items displayed elsewhere?

If one or more items are robbed from your house and displayed elsewhere, for example in another house in the vicinity, what is the best way to retrieve the stolen items? The items robbed are low value items so it is not worth filing a police complaint.

You can do this alone you need to involve the law. So get the police involved as thats their job description to retrieve stolen goods
