I've personally moved house several times. The first time was when I had to go to college in another city, leaving my parents. The second time was when I started working, in a city even further from my hometown. I often see many married people moving, and of course, they have far more equipment than I do.

For married people, moving is not only a hassle but also requires significant costs, from repairs to moving our belongings. Therefore, we need to plan carefully to save money. But how do we do that? Can you explain?

If you keep on moving, better don't buy appliances. Buy only bed and kitchen wares enough for yourself. This won't harm your wallet. It's better to be smart. What's important is there's saving and investment which could be utilized someday once you permanently install someday with your family.

Great question. First off ensure you contribute towards rent/board and household expenses. Remember this will stand you in good stead for when you move out as you will either have to pay rent or a mortgage and the household expenses., So start now. Your future self will thank you for this

That's quite sensible. Carrying only the things that are necessary when moving would really help to save money and stress.

Moving with a family is a whole different story compared to student days, I know how it is. The best way to save money is to get rid of everything you no longer use about a month before – fewer boxes mean a smaller van and a lower price. For the actual transport, I went with Southside Moving and Storage. They gave me a fixed price for the heavy furniture pieces and it ended up cheaper than renting a van myself and risking breaking something or messing up my back on the stairs. Plus, they brought their own protective wrapping, so I didn’t have to spend money on whole rolls I have no use for now.

We had to spend a lot of money as my husband was transferred in a government job frequently.
