How to Secure a Non-Custodial Wallet?

A Non-Custodial Wallet or Self Custodial Wallet is a type of crypto wallet where the user has full control and holds the private key that must be stored properly. A few years ago I lost my crypto balance in my wallet (even though it was only $7) in Trust Wallet because I didn't store my private key properly. Since then I have started storing my private key properly. either through notes in a book, screenshots/taking photos. Before using it to store crypto, I will remove this wallet app, just for testing, then I will reinstall it, and log in with the private key and password that I have saved. if successful, it means the wallet is safe from private key errors. How about you?
