According to the report, Hungary is preparing to send 200 troops to Chad, claiming its mission is to combat terrorism and curb illegal migration from Africa to Europe.

The report aid that with a proposed 14 million euro contribution from the European Peace Facility, this deployment is set to be discussed at an upcoming EU meeting.

The report added that Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban recently met with Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, highlighting the importance of Sahel region cooperation to stem migration. However, security experts question the impact of such a small force, with some suggesting Orban’s true aim is to secure access to Chad’s vast mineral resources.

In addition, the Europeans are not sending their company to Africa to create jobs but their military to stop unemployed Africans from seeking jobs in Europe.
