For me its a totally different story. $20 converted to my currency is P270.00. P100 fuel lasts me the whole week if i where to go to work daily. P170 remainder would actually be enough for me and my kid for the whole week.

I know several people who can survive, even THRIVE, on $20 a week.

I believe that this $20 can survive some families in a week, depending on circumstances. If they are living in rural areas, they can survive with this amount. The price is cheaper in rural areas, especially for vegetables.
