Well said, it has to be given out in a fair way. I have seen cases where these awards leads to staff hating one another cause they feel those who got the award did not deserve it.Staff awards if given out on a fair way, can help to motivate staff. However, if the process of selecting the candidate who receive award is not transparent, the staff will distrust the company.
Well that's right even those that do not even deserved it will start clamouring for it. Sometimes we can't even help it.People interpret things differently and you can't even control some people from thinking others are favoured in staff recognition.
