India election to start next month

There will be an election of a new parliament in India. This seems like the largest democratic exercise with 970 million registered voters.

The Indian Election Commission stated on Saturday that the elections will be done in 7 phases. It is slated to start from 19 April to 1 June. it would take about 44 days

There will be security personnel on ground to oversee the affairs for a free and fair election at over a million polling stations with the help of 5.5 million electronic voting machines.

18 million first time voters will cast their votes while 197 million young people are eligible to cast a vote.

India is a huge country with diversify religious believe. India have been able to put their belief aside and forged a great nation with little uprisings now and then. In a religious diversity, a lot of countries are in violent and conflicting situations.
