Due to the high rate of inflation, the incidents of people stealing things have risen drastically. Just yesterday, someone entered my compound to cut away the electricity cable that I use to tap electricity from the neighbouring house. A very long and quality cable that would cost me $20 to replace. And many other people are experiencing similar things.

How do you cope with theft of your properties with rising inflation?

It’s frustrating how inflation makes people desperate, and theft becomes more common. One way to cope is by being proactive, investing in good locks, security lights, or even simple surveillance cameras. Another is adjusting your mindset about losses; sometimes it’s cheaper to replace small items than to stress over them. Staying vigilant is key.

I read on the news about one who tried to steal some wires but was electrocuted to death. To be honest people are becoming really desperate due to the cost of things.

Like that one now, he has lost his life. Was it not better to face the hardship and still be alive? It is a living being that can survive hardship.

This happened to me years back and we had to replace the wire. The cost of wire/ cable wasn't that high but now it is.
