Is a travel insurance a waste of money for someone that travels once in two years?

For people like us that don't really have a need to travel, is there any need to have Travel insurance plans at all? The risk of having any travel related mishap is very low. I travel once in two years.

It is not a waste of money to get a travel insurance even when you travel very sparingly. Monthly premiums would be really low for that, I guess.

I believe this is the most balanced option. And the premium for such insurance would be determined by your destination and mode of travelling.
