Is an influencer expected by law to disclose that a particular post endorsing a product is sponsored?

Influencer marketing has become the order of the day when it comes to online business and e commerce. Most times, influencers don't state if their content endorsing a particular product or business is sponsored.

Does the law in your country require that influencers should disclose sponsored posts?

Am not sure though, but i think it depends on the kind of contract they are going into. There are some where they are not allowed to let people know.

It depends on the country. Some countries require that the entrepreneur states sponsored adverts expressly.

When we see such posts on Instagram we can see the sponsored tag and when a celebrity endorses a brand then also they tag that particular brand so we can easily know if it is a sponsored content.

It depends on country's law. We don't have such law but if someone sues the influencer, the case would be handled by the court.

I mostly see sponsored posts on different social networking websites and able to see the sponsored tag on these, making it easier for me to know if its sponsored or not

Although not legally, an influencer because they have been paid by a brand/product, it is their obligation to include a few words to promote the product, or they show off the product they are using, depending on the social media they use.

I feel it should be mandatory because I am still aware of many people who follow certain brands because these are endorsed by their favorite celebrity

I feel it depends on the agreement between the influencer and the owner of the product or service.
