You can still deal on seasonal products as an addition to your present business. But you can't base a business on a product that is completely seasonal.
It is not compulsory but if you can why not. You can cash in and make all the money if you have the means to start off
It depends on the personal preferences of the person, some people can work on sales jobs only for a few months in a year, they may have other work like farming.

It all depends on the kind of business you want to startup, then again dealing with businesses that are seasonal does not stop you from doing other business.
If you want to run a business long term, you cannot just depend on selling seasonal products. You need stable sales income. You can add seasonal products for sale when they are available.
