Is it possible for someone to forget that someone is owing him or her money?

Yesterday, a friend of mine was sent money that was a repayment of debts someone was owing him. He was even shocked and said that he has even forgotten that the person is owing him debts.

Is it possible that someone is owing you and you forget that the person is owing you?

For me, I do think I will forget if someone owe me money. But I think it may happen if you have not signed any agreement and the amount is not big.

There are too many things that people get bothered about and they forget debts. It rarely happens though.

Yes, this can happen, especially if the amount borrowed was small. The person might forget that they were owed money.

Yes it's possible for this to happen, especially if whoever is owing you is someone close to you, or the amount they owe you is not that big in your point of view.

I think this happens a lot when the repayment didn't come when expected the person might have forgotten about such debt

I think people that have good money always forget often, the people that are owing them. Especially when it is one insignificant amount.

That could possibly happen but in my case 4 relatives borrowed me money which they never paid. They didn't borrow few pesos but thousands. They are thick and shameless. I can never forget the money they owed me. It's been a long time now. Though I moved on, but I will never forget.

I know debts that I have personally forgotten about. When they become too long, you just save yourself the worry and forget about such debts.
