Is it possible to connect a VGA monitor to a HDMI decoder or PC?

I have a monitor screen that I want to cast my PC screen to and watch movies since the monitor screen is bigger. But the monitor screen has a VGA port only. And my PC has just the HDMI extension.

Is it possible to still show my laptop screen on the monito? What options do I have to achieve this?

It is very possible and quite easy to connect a PC to a VGA screen using HDMI. All you need is a Converter. It is just a small box device. The one you would need would be the one that has a HDMI input and a VGA output.
