I see some bars being described as, "Sports bars". We all know the common bars that people go to have a drink of two. Is there a difference between a sports bar and that drinking bar? What are those differences? And how do they affect running them as businesses?

The primary focus of a sports bar is to watch sports, everything else like sales of drinks and the likes are secondary. While a regular bar is the opposite.

Most sport bars take the drink business seriously as well. Some bars even allow free viewing of sports but on the condition that you must get a drink.

Yes I have seen cases like that, to watch a match, you need to buy a drink. That's the only way they would allow you stay.
