According to the report, Israel has said that "gaps" remain with Hamas on how to secure a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release.

The report added that the remarks come after they sent a delegation led by the head of Israel's Mossad intelligence agency, David Barnea, to Qatar to take part in the latest round of truce talks with mediators in Doha. Meanwhile, a senior official from the United States has said they believe Israel and Hamas have a "pretty significant opening" to reach a deal.

Meanwhile, reports say that Hamas is ready to discuss US President Biden's three-stage truce proposal.
