According to the report, an Israeli strike on a vehicle in the southern Lebanese port city of Sidon resulted in the death of a Hamas commander. This marks the first such attack in Sidon since Hamas initiated its assault on Israel on October 7, which ignited the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

The report said that Hamas confirmed that its commander, Samer al-Hajj, was killed in the Israeli strike in Sidon.

The report added that the Israeli military also confirmed that its aircraft targeted the Sidon area and eliminated Hajj, describing him as a senior commander for Hamas in Lebanon. Reports also indicated that the strike wounded two civilians.
