Israeli tanks advance into Gaza's Deir al-Balah city for first time

For the first time, Israeli tanks have moved into central Gaza's Deir al-Balah, causing a new round of civilian displacement. A day after Israel ordered people in various sections to evacuate, local journalists reported that tanks entered the city's southern and eastern regions on Monday amid intense artillery and airstrikes. One of the only places in Gaza where Israel has not carried out a significant ground offensive during its 21-month conflict with Hamas is Deir al-Balah.
