So I had a chance to help balance the books for the company owned by the mayor of my municipality. This is someone that is a father figure.
He asked me how much my fee is. I told him that he should give me what a father should give a son. He actually underpaid me. But I was thankful and left. Didn't protest. I didn't complain.
Next day, he referred me to another client in the state government with whom I would get higher pay.
Moral of the story: Don't drag price or money with every client that you see.
