External Affairs Minister Dr.S. Jaishankar is scheduled to undertake an official visit to Sri Lanka on December 23 as the Prime Minister's Special Envoy. The visit, announced by India's High Commission in Colombo, aims to reinforce India's "Neighbourhood First" policy and discuss bilateral cooperation.

A primary agenda item is reviewing India's relief and rehabilitation assistance following the devastation caused by Cyclone Ditwah, which recently hit the island nation. Dr. Jaishankar is expected to meet with Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe and other senior officials to discuss ongoing projects
