JAMB, Nigeria has announced that it withheld the results of 39,834 candidates out of the over 1.9 million applicants

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that it withheld the results of 39,834 candidates out of the over 1.9 million applicants in the just concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, stated this on Friday, May 9, while officially releasing the 2025 UTME results.

He explained that the results were withheld over issues relating to examination irregularities.

He also disclosed that while 41,000 underage candidates registered for the exercise, 467 met the prescribed minimum score, adding that 50 were engaged in a cheating scandal.

I think is time, Nigeria government should overhaul the Joint Matriculation board and allow the universities to conduct their admission test. I think is more preferable than to waste our resources unnecessarily.

What? Why did they do this? I think it's disrespectful to the candidates. Why do they have to withhold the results? It's truly a terrible lack of respect.

There where a lot of complains in many centers about their systems not working and some could not even write why won't they be mass failure?
