According to the Japanese government, the country now has a record-breaking 100,000 people who are 100 years of age or older. As of September, there were 99,763 centenarians in Japan, breaking the previous record for the 55th consecutive year, the health ministry announced on Friday. Women made up an astonishing 88% of that total. Although various studies dispute the precise number of centenarians globally, Japan is noted for having the longest life expectancy and frequently living the oldest living person in the world. With a low birth rate and a generally balanced diet, it is also one of the fastest-aging societies.

Wow that's pretty impressive, with how they eat and take care of themselves, am not even surprised about this to be honest.
But I was surprised, because here normally people don't live above 80-85 years

I also doubt we have close to this number of persons over 100 years. Right from time Asia, especially the Japanese and Chinese are know for living long. I guess it has to do with their lifestyle.

Wow that's terrific, 100 years old plus still living. They are lucky people, they take good care of themselves. In my country once a Filipino reaches age 100, he or she will receive a plaque and a cash reward worth $3000. But I only heard two people who received these rewards, meaning seldom Filipinos reached 100 years old. The supposed life span of a human being is 125 years.
