Len Sassaman and his legacy in the crypto world

The legacy of Len Sassaman is an important reminder of the extent to which the history of cryptocurrency is bound up with the struggle for privacy online. What's most significant for me, though, is that he was a cypherpunk who cared deeply about privacy and security online, working on projects such as Mixmaster, as well as playing an important role in the development of PGP. What, in my opinion, is the significance of the legacy of Len Sassaman within the cryptocurrency community is that he had a vision for digital freedom that has realized itself in the form of the creation of Bitcoin in a whole generation of programmers. What is also intriguing, following his death in 2011, is the hidden message he left within the Bitcoin blockchain, symbolically connecting him to the mystery of the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto, raising the possible involvement of the former in the creation of the latter.
