The Local Government Units ( LGU) suspend classes in some areas in Metro Manila and nearby cities especially in Malabon City and Las Pinas City because of the sweltering heat that reaches to danger level. Manila City Mayor Honey Lacuna also ordered the suspension of afternoon classes at all levels starting 12:00 noon Monday. Lacuna based her order on the weather forecast that Manila’s heat index will range from 36-38 degrees Celsius in the morning and will peak at 42 degree Celsius around 2:00 pm. Pasay City also declared suspension of afternoon classes at all levels both in public and private schools.

Month of March is the starting month for the Philippines to experience heat waves that will end 2nd week of July. It was ordered by President Marcos last year to end the classes in the month March to avoid the heat index that may reach to 52 degrees Celsius like what happened last year .Some schools totally suspended their classes while some shifted to online classes.

Yes, I have heard that classes have been suspended due to dangerously high heat. Summer has arrived, which brings scorching temperatures. Always remember to stay hydrated and wear light clothing.
We also start to experience the sweltering heat. The university president ordered conversion of classes to online modalities should the heat index doesn't go down.

What you guys called scorching temperatures is mild when you compare it to what we have here. In northern Nigeria, temperature isee to Celcius in the morning around nine in the morning. Asia and some part pf United Arabic Emirate are also incthe category of extremely hot temperate.
