Losses due to incorrect financial advice

Has any member suffered losses due to incorrect financial advice? Can legal action be taken against the person offering incorrect advice, especially if the advisor is getting paid for giving financial advice?

Financial advisors are experts, of course they work on the basis of professionalism and code of ethics, so they only provide advice according to their expertise, while the decision is in the hands of the investor, so financial advisors cannot be sued as long as they do not violate the code of ethics.
