According to the report, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Sunday said no Filipino casualties have been reported so far following escalating hostilities between Israel, the United States (US) and Iran.
The report stated that in a video message, Marcos said the government has been closely monitoring developments in the Middle East after Israel and the US launched airstrikes against Iran, which retaliated by attacking American bases in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Oman, and Israel.
Marcos said that, as of 9 o’clock Sunday, it was reported that no Filipinos have died, no Filipinos have been injured. He assured the public that Philippine embassies and labor offices across the region began monitoring the situation as early as Saturday afternoon. Marcos added that millions of overseas Filipino workers are based in the Middle East, making regional instability a key concern for the Philippine government.
The Ph President said Filipinos in affected areas have moved to safer locations, including bomb shelters, and are distancing themselves from potential targets such as American military bases. noted that the situation remains fluid and that monitoring efforts will continue.
In addition to the report, The US and Israel launched a major military operation against Iran on Saturday, which US President Donald Trump said was aimed at degrading Tehran’s military capabilities and neutralizing what Washington described as a nuclear threat. In retaliation, Iran fired drones and missiles toward Israel and struck US military facilities in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar.
