According to the report, more than two hundred food delivery riders in Shanghai staged a protest and even surrounded a police car. People familiar with the situation said it all started when a residential compound in Pudong introduced a new rule. The rule banned delivery riders from riding their e-bikes inside the compound and required all orders to be delivered on foot. Riders stood outside scanning QR codes and passing orders to these temporary helpers.
