I am getting a message to download a random .apk file periodically on my android tablet. Does any other member face a similar problem or know how to fix it?

I have not experienced it. Try to restart, it might work after restarting. That could be frustrating and annoying

I have restarted the tablet several times, yet the message for downloading is displayed at least a few times a day randomly. Do you think hackers are showing the message?

Yes i have experienced this before, you got the message probably from the sites you visited. There are some sites that usually sends this messages.
Just completely disable the app that is sending you that message. It is risky to download apk files.

Is there any way to easily identify the app sending the message to download the malware? The app name is not mentioned in the message which is displayed.
Of course not. I've never received a message to download an APK file from a platform I don't recognize. Where did you get the message from? Was it a pop-up ad, WhatsApp, a text message, etc.
Even if it is my bank app, I don't download the direct apk. I make sure that I install from Playstore.
