Mistakenly pasting litecoin address to send bitcoin: Would the transaction even go through at all?

A mistake can happen when we are trying to send crypto. One of such mistakes is sending to a wrong wallet address.

If someone mistakenly inputs a litecoin address and the token he is sending is bitcoin, would the transaction even go through?
 
Some wallets will reject incorrectly copied addresses, so when you paste a Litecoin address to send Bitcoin, you'll see a warning that the address doesn't match. However, some wallets won't care if you paste the address; the transaction will be executed immediately, and your crypto will be lost.
