I went with a friend yesterday to shop for a laptop. And we could not find even one laptop that still had a CD Rom. Is it that modern laptops don't carry CD Roms again?

What could be the reason for building modern day laptops not coming with a CD Rom?

Yes, modern computers don't have CD ROMs. Digital revolution has changed everything. The steaming services and downloads are more in practice and the demand of a physical media to do so is no more. Moreover, people are looking for sleek thinner light weight devices and affordable cost. All these have made CD ROMs outdated one

I don't see the need for the CD Roms. We can easily download the software that we need from the various app stores.

It's an era of digital revolution, flooded with apps in app store and easy to download option. No one requires a physical CD ROM to do so. Things are moving towards minimal with look and people prefer light weighted sleek looking gadgets. Your gadget is no more seated on a desk in your workspace. You are carrying it on your lap wherever you go. Physical accessories like CDROM is a thing of past.
