ln the previous company that l worked for, l always found that the top paid person's lived very miserably life full of complaints about how life was very hard to them unlike the low to middle income earners for the same company that lived happily with the low salaries. What do you think?

That depends on the person's lifestyle and mindset. If s(he) has a negative mindset, s(he) is not happy with or without money.

I think certain monied people are not stunned by their wealth. This group thus lives modestly, you may call it miserably.
On the other hand, some people who are less well-off feel the pressure to show that they have made it. This lot thereby cannot stop chasing modern conveniences.
