My cousin sent me $3000 to buy an iPhone for myself. Is it financially wise to do that?

My cousin sent me $3000 and made me promise her to buy an iPhone with it. I can get a good android phone with $500. I don't have any special need for an iPhone now. Do you think it would be a wise financial decision to buy an iPhone with that much money when I can buy an android phone with $500 and save $2500?
