Scientists at Mzuzu University's Faculty of Agriculture made a groundbreaking announcement on December 26,revealing the successful development of a new, drought-resistant cassava variety. Dubbed "Mtwalo Gold," the variant demonstrated remarkable yield stability during two years of field trials in the dry plains of Kasungu. Lead researcher Dr. Tamara Chibwe stated the crop matures faster and is rich in vitamin A.
