The report said that the death toll from an earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand continues to rise with one prediction that fatalities could exceed 100,000. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) said Saturday that between 10,000 and 100,000 people may have been killed following the 7.7 earthquake which struck near Mandalay, in the centre of the country, on Friday and was felt in neighbouring nations. As of Saturday morning, the confirmed death toll topped 1,000 on Saturday with 2,376 injured, according to the country's military-led government. Myanmar declared a state of emergency across the six worst-affected regions after the quake.

Indeed , so very tragic , my heart felt bad . My deepest condolences and sympathy to all those affected by the devastating earthquakes in Myanmar and Bangkok. May God give them eternal peace.

Yes, according to the latest report because of the huge buildings that collapsed at the time of the quake, many were working. It is so sad, they might be laughing and chatting with co-workers then so suddenly they were buried in debris.
 
Over 100,000? That is a big number. It is both saddening and frightening. We are in the Pacific Ring of Fire, so the prospect of experiencing a magnitude 8 earthquake is alarming. According to the news, over 50,000 people might lose their lives if such an earthquake occurs.
 
There were many tall buildings collapsed and workers were there, Those commercial buildings, maybe all workers and customers died, God forbid. There were survivors after 40 hours under rubbles, they were lucky perhaps it's not yet their time.
 
As of yesterday, the news said that there were already 2,800 confirmed dead and they are still excavating and clearing the site. There were huge buildings and it was not easy to dig and cowd the areas of the earthquake attack.

That was only an estimation. I think it won't reach that number. That will be too much to bear by people in Myanmar. As of this day declared dead of an earthquake attack reach 3, 500.

The estimation might be wrong but it was declared that the fatalities may reach 10, 000 as per survey results
Those collapsed buildings had people working and at homes families were intact.

Yes, it's bad mate. I haven't heard your country attacked by an earthquake. Your country might not be under the ring of fire. My country is always attacked by earthquake. Recently, 5.5 magnitude hit Batangas, one of the cities in the Philippines. We're thankful, there was no casualty.
