According to the report, Nestlé has issued a global recall of some baby formula products over concerns they contain a toxin that can cause food poisoning, BBC reported. The food and drink giant said specific batches of its SMA infant formula and follow-on formula were not safe to be fed to babies.

The report also stated that the batches were sold across the world, Nestlé said, and they potentially contain cereulide, which can cause nausea and vomiting when consumed.

The company said there had been no confirmed reports of illness associated with the products, but was recalling them out of an abundance of caution.

Nestlé said. "We sincerely apologize for any concern or inconvenience caused to parents, caregivers, and customers. Nestle added that the safety and well-being of babies is their absolute priority

The report added that the baby formula products were sold in several European countries, including France, Germany, Austria, Denmark, Italy, and Sweden.

Additionally, Nestlé promised refunds to affected customers and said the problem was caused by an ingredient provided by one of its suppliers.

The fact that they are trying to recall these products shows that they at least are willing to own up to their mistakes.
That is right, and Nestlé promised to pay moral damages. It is not their fault but the fault of their supplier, who failed to check the effect of the formulation.
