According to the report, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on Nov. 5, citing a lack of mutual trust during a time of war as his reason for doing so.
The report said that Gallant will be replaced by Foreign Minister Israel Katz, while Minister without Portfolio Gideon Sa’ar will replace Katz in the Foreign Ministry
The report also stated that Gallant warned that Israel would forever bear “the mark of Cain” if it abandoned the hostages held in Gaza, and saluted the IDF, hostages, and fallen soldiers, in a forceful denunciation of the government from which he was dismissed.
In addition to the report, opposition lawmakers and civil society groups condemned Netanyahu’s decision accusing the premier of playing politics at the expense of Israel’s security and urging citizens to demonstrate publicly against the wartime dismissal.
I agree with PM Netanyahu, Gallant is not smart, even if you disagree, don't attack your PM publicly, especially in a war situation, the enemy can take advantage. Mr Gallant seems to be a good man. Sad to see him go. Let's all hope for peace so that ordinary people can get on with their lives as we all would like to do.
