Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost has been elected Pope on the second day of Conclave, taking the name of Leo XIV, after becoming the first-ever American to be elected to the position in the 2,000-year history of the Catholic Church.

Yes, for the first time in history, the Catholic Church will be led by an American Pope. In fact will be Pope Leone XIV, baptismal name Robert Francis Prevost, 69 years old, the successor of Francis, he was elected in just 24 hours. In his curriculum, a degree in mathematics and subsequently the entry into the order of Saint Augustine. A long missionary service in Peru. Ordained Priest first and in 1999 elected Provincial Prior of Chicago. 16 years later he became Bishop until 2023 when he became Cardinal. From yesterday, May 8, 2025, he enters history as the 267th Pontiff successor of Saint Peter.
