Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost has been elected Pope on the second day of Conclave, taking the name of Leo XIV, after becoming the first-ever American to be elected to the position in the 2,000-year history of the Catholic Church.

May the power of the Holy Spirit be with you always, Pope Leo XIV, as you guide the church and the world with social justice, bringing unity with faith, hope, and love that brings peace & truth to the whole world. Almighty God, Lord Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit, thank you for our new Pope and may he contribute more and much better for humanity's sake, peace, and spreading the word of God in the whole universe. Prayers from the Philippines.

Congrats, America, for having a new American Pope.

Yes, for the first time in history, the Catholic Church will be led by an American Pope. In fact will be Pope Leone XIV, baptismal name Robert Francis Prevost, 69 years old, the successor of Francis, he was elected in just 24 hours. In his curriculum, a degree in mathematics and subsequently the entry into the order of Saint Augustine. A long missionary service in Peru. Ordained Priest first and in 1999 elected Provincial Prior of Chicago. 16 years later he became Bishop until 2023 when he became Cardinal. From yesterday, May 8, 2025, he enters history as the 267th Pontiff successor of Saint Peter.

It seems more than obvious that the new Pope Leone XIV and Donald Trump, despite both being Americans, have two decidedly different points of view. In this Trumpian period of "America first", the US President seems to see only power, money and wealth. Pope Leo instead has chosen the path of peace and humility.

That's a normal thing being born from parents with different values. Donald Trump grew up wealthy. He's also brilliant, while the new Pope Pope Leo Francis grew up with a vision to serve God and humanity not money.

Think that the US Secretary of State, Steve Bannon defines the election of Pope Leo XIV "the worst choice for American Catholics MAGA (Make America Great Again)". In essence, for him, it is as if it were an anti-Trumpian vote. This statement leaves me completely speechless!

Let us wait and see about the progress of President Trump. He still has many years to serve America, and so far, he is doing right for the Americans. Pope Leo X1V also pledged to follow what the late Pope Francis had done and not yet done.

In fact, Pope Leonardo places himself in continuity with his predecessor Pope Francis who among all his phrases had repeated several times this: "build bridges and not walls".

With the help of the Holy Spirit and the Cardinals anywhere in the world there is nothing impossible for the new pope to reach and achieve what the people expect on him. His phrase is very symbolic and meaningful yet tough but with God, it's not impossible.
