The federal government of Nigeria has states that only candidates from 18 years old and above should be offered admission into tertiary institutions.

This infomation was made available by the Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, on Monday, April 22, during a monitoring exercise of the ongoing 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in Bwari, Abuja.

He further added that the 18-year benchmark is in line with the 6-3-3-4 education system.

That's better, these days we have so many children who are not even mature, rush into the university.
You are right, some parents are just pushing their wards just too hard a they want them to finish high school even at 14 years

Federal government should concentrate on issue of poverty eradication and fighting corruption. They should stop chasing shadows. If a child is brilliant and have excellent academic achievement, why hindering the child from going to university immediately without delay. I think in United States, axchild of 15 years is a doctor of academics.
