Norway’s Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Støre, tried to enter Israel in October, but was denied entry. The reason is said to be political. His office called Netanyahu’s office to arrange a visit, but was told “the time is not right.” That was the official reason given.
But Støre himself says that’s not all. He feels this is motivated by recent Norwegian actions:
Supporting the International Criminal Court (ICC)
Officially recognizing Palestine as a state
And withdrawing state pension funds from certain Zionist companies
In his words, he believes some Israeli leaders are responding angrily to countries that have opposed their attacks on Gaza and recognized Palestine.
It’s like saying: “Norway has taken a stand, and now Israel says no.”
