It's just come to my attention that in Oaxaca, police shot and killed a guy suspected of femicide. He apparently resisted arrest, but the whole thing just leaves you feeling uneasy.

Honestly, my first thought is about justice. Did things have to end this way? It's a terrible situation all around. It’s awful how these situations turn violent so fast. You have a femicide, which is already such a brutal crime, and then it ends with someone dead during an arrest. It makes you question if there could have been a better way to handle it.

What really stands out to me is how intense the pursuit must have been. It makes you wonder what was going through everyone's minds at the moment. You know, the police officers, the suspect. It must have been a terrifying situation for everyone.

If you asked me, I’d say a key thing is trying to stop these things from happening in the first place. What can be done better? How can people be educated and supported so it doesn't come to this? Do we need more resources for families or schools? Are there community programs that could assist? What about laws?

Ultimately, it feels like Mexico really needs to do more to keep women safe. It isn’t enough. Stricter laws, yes, but also changing mindsets. Education has a huge role to play. It all starts with teaching respect and equality from the very beginning. This should never happen.
