Imagine that you are conducting a job interview to employ a staff for your business organization. And you are to ask just one question to help you determine if the candidate would be good fit for your business.

What would that question be?

Hi, if I could only ask one question to determine if a candidate would be a good fit for my business, it would be: “Can you tell me about a time you faced a significant challenge at work and how you resolved it?” I believe this question reveals not only the candidate’s skills and experience but also their problem-solving abilities, their attitude toward difficulties, and their level of proactivity. It also helps to understand how they work under pressure and whether their values and style align with the company culture. It’s important to hear not only the solution itself but also the process they followed, as this reveals a lot about their critical thinking and leadership. Ultimately, this question helps assess whether the candidate has the maturity and competencies needed to adapt and contribute positively to the team.

If you had to learn a completely new skill just to be able to complete a task, would you learn it, and how far would you go to learn this new skill?
