Operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit of the Osun State Command have arrested a 22-year-old suspected cultist, Ismail Damilare, also known as "Killer," in the Oke-Odo area of Osogbo.

Upon his arrest, the suspect was found in possession of two locally made pistols, ammunition, and other weapons.

The suspect claimed he was using the arms and ammunition to protect himself.

During interrogation, the suspect claimed to be the Personal Assistant to the Chairman of the Osun State Park Management System, Nurudeen Iyanda, aka Alowonle.

Wow, this story is honestly crazy. A 22-year-old carrying pistols and calling himself “Killer”? That already says a lot about how deep cultism and street violence have gotten in places like Osogbo. I get that he said the weapons were for “protection,” but that’s just not a good enough reason it’s a cycle where everyone’s scared, so everyone arms themselves, and that never ends well. The part that really caught my attention is him claiming to be the PA to the Osun State Park Management Chairman. If that’s true, it’s even more disturbing because it means people in authority might be connected to these kinds of groups. Honestly, Nigeria needs to start tackling this issue from the root — better education, job opportunities, and accountability from leaders. Otherwise, we’ll just keep reading headlines like this every other week.
