According to the report, Japanese authorities ordered the evacuation of Akuseki Island after a magnitude-5.5 earthquake struck on Thursday, part of an ongoing swarm of more than 1,000 quakes since June 21. Residents were moved to a school playground but later allowed to return after no major damage was reported.
