Pakistan has confirmed its fourth polio case this year, jolting the country's efforts to eliminate the crippling disease. According to the report, the boy was taken to the hospital after suffering acute paralysis in both lower limbs and being unable to hold up his neck. This was the first occurring reported from Sindh province; the prior three victims were from Balochistan. According to the National Institute of Health in Islamabad, the latest case was also caused by Type-1 wild poliovirus (WPV1), as were the prior three.
