After successfully blocking X, formerly Twitter, for over four months, the Pakistani government has announced a six-day ban on all social media platforms -- YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok -- from July 13 to 18, citing the need to control "hate material" during the Islamic month of Ramadan.

Pakistan Army Chief Gen Asim Munir has already considered social media to be "vicious media" and stressed the importance of combating "digital terrorism".

That is unusual. In my opinion, they have lost control over the people and believe that by banning certain sites, they will be able to control them; but, what about the haters on other days?
