:With a broad majority, the Assembly passed the Law on Cybersecurity, transposing the relevant EU directive (NIS2). The law establishes a National Cybersecurity Agency as the central coordination body for preventing and responding to cyber incidents across critical infrastructure (energy, transport, finance, health). It also imposes stricter security and reporting obligations on essential service providers. "In a digital age, this law is as vital as national defense," argued the Minister of Information Society.
