Business people are expected to be friendly and polite at all times. That is necessary to draw customers in. However, there should be a boundary in it.

At which point does having to be friendly for business sake cross the line? What should we guide against not to cross this line?

A customer can't just walk in and hug me and expect me not to react because I want to be friendly to customers. That's crossing the line.

Yes a business owner has to be friendly to their customers or potential customers but in a situation where the customer is becoming rude to the business owner and the staffs, it should not be accepted.

I won't laugh over this. Some female attendants in bars are always forced to take this cool so as not to lose customers. That's stupidity.

A customer can't just come and harass me all in the name of being friendly. No customer can touch me beyond a handshake or a hug that I offer to close female customers alone.
