According to the report, the Philippine men’s 3x3 wheelchair team booked a spot in the semifinals after sweeping its first two games in the 13th ASEAN Para Games at Hall 1 of Terminal 21 Korat, Thailand, on Monday.

The report stated that team captain Kenneth Tapia, Alfie Cabañog, Jannil Cañete, and Fel Lander Dawal led the Pilipinas Warriors to an opening 20-3 victory over Indonesia. Cabañog starred anew in the second game, scoring seven points to lead the Filipinos past the Malaysians, 11-7.

The report said that Coach Vernon Perea hopes the Filipinos’ landslide victory over the Indonesians will set the tone for the rest of the campaign, and luckily, they came out as the winners.

The report added that the women’s 3x3 wheelchair basketball squad is in a must-win situation after losing its first two games -- 2-14 to Thailand and 5-8 to Laos. Women’s team coach Harry Solanoy said that with only three teams in the tournament, they need to step up their performance if they want to make it to the finals.
