In some countries, taking care of elder is government responsibility. Though is good to have some money mapped out for medical expenditure. Now that the inflation is very high and unbearable, i don't think it will be right to be saving now because you need to survive before saving money.
Yes, if you know you don't have any other way out. it is good to plsn and save money towards your health expenses especially as you advance in age.

Planning ahead is always a smart move. I am in the process of building an emergency fund to cover any unforeseen medical expenses.
